NSILP 2025 bursary

The ACPF is offering a member of Australia’s wild prawn fishing industry $6,000 (plus GST) towards the costs of completing the 2025 NSILP via the ACPF’s George Raptis NSILP bursary. The program costs $990 plus GST. Travel and accommodation costs of residentials are extra: Cohort 1: 18– 20 March 2025 – Adelaide, 24– 26 June

Environmental front foot

As trawl fishing becomes the increasing topic of conversation amongst activists and policy makers, the ACPF has partnered with the FRDC to fund a Program of Environment related work aiming toi position the wild prawn sector as ocean stewards. Food service wild prawn virtual classroom a hit

82% of the food service sector gets its prawn information from their fishmonger/wholesaler*.  With so many food service questions, the Chef Resources on the Australian Wild Prawn site provide a go-to short video series  to help the wild prawn sector’s supply chain save time. The ACPF also promoted the video series to the hospitality sector

100% yes for seafood retail labelling

Australian Wild Prawns are “more than a prawn”. They are the Taste of the Wild. So – are seafood retailers selling what they say they are? 100% Yes. 345 samples of prawns marked Australian and/or indicating wild caught were analysed in the latest batch of prawn samples taken from retailers all around Australia by Source

96% retail confidence

The results of the December 2021 round of random, covert samples from retailers around Australia are in – 96% of prawns marked ‘Australian’ were again found to be Australian.  The survey is part of a four-year FRDC/ACPF investment with Curtin University and Source Certain into Australian Wild Prawn trace element fingerprints.
