We remember

Vale George Raptis. Born in 1937 to humble fishing folk on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula coast George was instrumental in growing Australia’s prawn export industry and in building seafood processing plants in both southern and northern Australia, George passed away after a valiant battle with cancer on 29th September.  George’s legacy is that of a widely-respected pioneer and pacesetter in Australia’s prawn fisheries in particular, and in the Australian seafood industry in general.  Our condolences are with the Raptis family.

ACPF acknowledges the unprecedented and tragic loss of six crew from FV Dianne in October. Our thoughts and condolences are with their families, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time.
