On-board processing and packaging innovation

The ACPF has invited a third round of interest in subsidised (50%) on-board processing innovation machinery as part of the Fight Food Waste CRC project run by Curtin University. We are also interested in other ideas and innovations that could improve on-board efficiency. The same project will produce a packaging chooser to help prawn fishing businesses get ahead in the push to Recycle, Reuse, Reduce packaging.  The project plans to align this with retail trends. The project has also recommended the Traceability Chooser to prawn fishers who would like consumers to know the origin of their prawns.  For many small to medium sized prawn fishing businesses, the Chooser suggests a QR code linked to harvest information on packaging for easy scanning. The ACPF produced a series of fisheries QR codes that prawn fishers are welcome to use.
