INTO 2018

2018 is shaping up to be another busy year for the ACPF and we look forward to working with you all again to further the interests of the ACPF and its members in the coming year.

Key activities will include the LAP campaign branching into the food service sector, extension on bycatch and energy efficiency research being rolled out to fishers around the country, development of community engagement strategies and the commencement the Prawn Import Risk Assessment review.

2018 calendar dates involving our members and fishers are:

  • ACPF members community engagement/social licence workshop – 7 February 2018, Adelaide
  • Prawn Import Risk Assessment meeting – 8 February, Canberra
  • Trace metals profile tender panel meeting – 15-16 February, Perth
  • ACPF Board meeting and Love Australian Prawns management committee meeting – March, TBA
  • ACPF AGM and RD&E forum – 9-2pm, 27 September, Brisbane

Prawn fishery bycatch/trawl efficiency port meetings:

  • Queensland: Townsville, 20-21 February 2018
  • Gulf St Vincent: 27-28 February 2018
  • NSW: Port Stephens, Coffs Harbour and Yamba, March/April 2018
  • Spencer Gulf and West Coast: Port Lincoln, March/April 2018
  • Shark Bay: Carnarvon (may include Exmouth), March/April 2018 TBC
  • NPF: Darwin and Cairns (incl Qld), from 24 July 2018
  • Queensland: Hervey Bay, October 2018
  • Victoria: TBA
